The team

The People, Services and Delivery group is a newly refreshed team supporting the organisation with services including HR, Finance, Procurement, Information Management, Operations, Risk & Assurance. We are collaborative, aspirational, and connected by our firm focus on supporting people to shape the future of New Zealand’s law. We work to build strong and resilient relationships across the business to achieve strong engagement and effective partnerships.

The role

We are creating a new assurance team to support the PCO management with delivery of objective assurance and advice. We require an assurance champion who has both business and information technology experience to lead multiple assurance, risk and security initiatives whilst creating and maturing an internal assurance practice.

This newly created role is responsible for the assurance of IT security, physical security, governance, health & safety, and finance. In addition to delivering objective assurance and advice across these areas of the PCO business, you will be responsible for the establishment and development of a team of two permanent direct reports, and two virtual reports.

As the right candidate, you will bring:

  • experience of risk & assurance planning, definition and execution
  • familiarity in reporting to the Executive Leadership Team, and Audit & Risk Committee
  • inspirational leadership and staff development ability
  • formal or informal programme management, including being able to plan and deliver a multi-year assurance work programme
  • expectation management skills
  • development and delivery of internal and external assurance reporting.
