The team

The People, Services and Delivery group is a newly refreshed team supporting the organisation with services including HR, Finance, Procurement, Information Management, Operations, Risk & Assurance. We are collaborative, aspirational, and connected by our firm focus on supporting people to shape the future of New Zealand’s law. The role

We are looking for an experienced finance professional to lead the Finance, Procurement, and Services team at the PCO.

A trusted advisor to the Executive Leadership team, and holding the function of Chief Financial Officer, this is a broad and varied role which will deliver quality, pragmatic advice and support, including to the PCO’s Audit & Risk Committee.

You will lead a team of six to deliver procurement, property services, payroll, budget management, and executive support services for the PCO. This includes ensuring effective implementation and governance of all financial and procurement policies, procedures and systems. You will also be closely involved in the PCO’s business planning process, and a member of the PCO management team.

This role interfaces broadly across Government, holding relationships with Treasury, Audit NZ, Office of the Auditor General, and Parliamentary Service.

The successful applicant will have:

  • an accounting or financial qualification
  • the ability to build trusted relationships
  • experience of owning and delivering internal and external reporting, budgeting, and treasury functions
  • demonstrated experience of developing high quality financial and business advice, analysis, and interpretation to support effective decision-making
  • built and managed high-quality procurement and supplier management capabilities
  • experience managing a team who are responsible for diverse functions across the business.
