The Parliamentary Counsel Office (PCO) plays a critical role in developing and publishing New Zealand’s legislation. Our vision of Great Law for New Zealand underpins everything we do. We work across government agencies to deliver legislation that is fit for purpose, constitutionally sound, and accessible.

The work we do is challenging, diverse, and integral to the lives of New Zealanders. There’s no other place like it.

The team

The People, Services and Delivery group is a newly refreshed team. We are collaborative, aspirational, and connected by our firm focus on supporting people to shape the future of New Zealand’s law. We work to build strong and resilient relationships across the business to achieve strong engagement and effective partnerships.

We’re building a group of talented, committed professionals who consistently deliver high-quality outcomes for the business.

The role

Right now, we’re looking for a Group Office Administrator in the Finance, Procurement & Services Team.  We’re after someone who can bring rigour and diligence, enabling our move from reactive support to a business performance function.

The Office Administrator works from the PCO office to support the People, Services & Delivery Group to provide a safe and efficient work environment for PCO. Delivering administration support, logistics activities and coordination in a timely and accurate manner. The role will include general administration tasks across the group and will also support some basic records functions.  You’ll work closely with our Finance, HR, IS, Knowledge & Information, and Assurance teams, and more broadly with other specialist teams across the office.

This position could be ideal for someone starting out, or returning to the workforce. The person we are looking for will be self-driven, keen to take on opportunities and develop new skills. For the right person we would consider slightly reduced hours, or split shift work to fit around study commitments.

Our culture

Located across the road from Parliament, PCO offers you a fascinating insight into Aotearoa’s legislation.

Our workplace encourages ambition and high performance - where diversity is welcomed, and where you can be rewarded with the satisfaction of delivering. Our small size allows you to be exposed to broad opportunities and grow your skills along the way.

We offer a range of resources to support your wellbeing such as 5 weeks annual leave, access to fitness opportunities, discounted health insurance and eye tests.

Applications

Applications must include a completed PCO application form, a CV, and a letter of application.
