Policy to Legislation Seminar

On Tuesday 11 July, the Parliamentary Counsel Office and the Office of the Clerk will jointly host the Policy to Legislation Seminar at Parliament.

This half-day seminar is for public servants from legal and policy teams in government departments who are new to the process of developing legislation. The plenary session covers the steps involved in developing policy into legislation. This is followed by interactive workshops that provide an overview of the role of officials in the drafting of Government Bills, each stage of the legislative process, and procedures in the House and select committee processes.

The seminar is aimed at participants who are new to the process of drafting policy for legislation, those who support their Minister to get a Bill through the House, or those who want to know more about how the legislative process works.

There is no cost and places are limited.

For lawyers, this seminar is interactive and verifiable and could count for up to three hours of CPD provided that it fits with your CPD plan and identified learning needs.
